Meet the Owner
Eric Strohecker brings a wealth of hands-on experience in the music industry to his new role as owner of Bach to Rock Powell. Most recently, he was the Director of Production and Operations at the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance. Prior to that, he enjoyed a successful 30-year career in the United States Air Force working in a variety of roles such as band manager, band superintendent and band supervisor at several U.S. Air Force Bases, including Germany, Japan, Nebraska, Virginia and Ohio. Eric’s love of music started in high school and led him to the Indiana University School of Music, where he earned his Bachelor of Music in tuba performance. He later obtained his master’s in management at Wright State University. Check out all of Eric’s credentials here.
“My current adventure in life is to make a positive impact on students through teaching music and making live music a vital part of the community culture,” said Eric Strohecker. Few activities can equal the fun and wide-ranging benefits for students of performing music for themselves and their audiences. “Playing music with others helps kids learn teamwork and personal responsibility, and the social interaction helps grow self-confidence. Plus, there are many benefits from the physiological brain development that occurs playing an instrument,” he added.
Bach to Rock Powell offers programs for students of all ages including: individual and group lessons in piano, voice, guitar, drums and more; “Rock City” for preschoolers and “Rock and Roll” for toddlers; beginning piano “Kids n Keys” for children in grades K-2; and summer camps and birthday parties. Plus, students can get involved in a glee club or rock band.

Changing the Way Students Learn Music
Bach to Rock is a music education school for students of all ages, from early childhood through high school and beyond. They know learning music should be fun and students learn best when they play music they enjoy. This is the music school kids would have designed for themselves, with weekly ensemble instruction and band formations leading to public concerts, Battle of the Bands and recording sessions in Bach to Rock’s professional recording studios. Bach to Rock builds technique, fosters teamwork, and enhances self-esteem through private lessons, band instruction, and public performances. Bach to Rock’s Beat Refinery DJ school is Serato certified, making it one of only a handful of schools in the United States and worldwide to offer the elite training developed by Serato. Serato, founded in 1999, is the premier provider of audio software to the DJ industry. The Serato certification ensures that select Bach to Rock DJ instructors have been trained and authorized to teach using Serato software and equipment.
Bach to Rock has instructed over 170,000 aspiring musicians since launching in 2007. They’re on track to become a $25 million brand! The brand comprises 54 music schools, 43 of which are franchisee-owned. Twenty-six of those schools are in Top Ten markets, ranked by population. Follow B2R on Facebook and on Instagram.
