How I Save TONS of Money on Cosmetics & Skincare

My struggle with acne started in 6th grade.  That was like 20 years ago!!  After years of trying every drug store brand of skincare product; facial cleanser, treatment, cream, ointments and buying a barrage of concealers, foundations, primers, and color correcting cosmetics, I was still struggling and I was very unhappy with my skin.  I was literally making WEEKLY purchases in these categories because nothing worked.  My vanity was covered with a million bottles, my bedtime & morning routines were cumbersome and I still felt like my face looked like crap.  Until one day,…….

Remember I mentioned the cumbersome, time consuming bedtime & morning routine?

Remember I mentioned weekly purchases?

Remember my vanity covered in millions of bottles?

About a year ago, I forked over the big bucks for an Obagi Nu-Derm Skin Care System Kit.  It was a major financial investment for me and I was putting total trust in my esthetician and the product’s claims.  My esthetician assured me that I wouldn’t be ‘re-upping’ on my kit constantly and (thank goodness!!) she was right!

Since I started using Obagi Nu-Derm products and getting regular skin care treatments.  I SAVE SO MUCH TIME AND MONEY BY INVESTING IN THESE PRODUCTS AND TREATMENTS!  I am not spending HOURS looking for new skin care products (and we all know, time is money!).  My skin looks and feels so much better so I have less to hide; I’m not buying every brand of concealer, foundation, primer, and color correcting cosmetics looking for something that will hide my blemishes.

Daily Morning Skincare Routine:

Step 1:  Cleanse with Obagi Nu-Derm Foaming Gel, 6.7 fl. oz. with this Super Soft Silicone Facial Brush. This 6.7 fl. oz bottle lasts me almost 6 months.  A little bit goes a long way!

Step 2:  Tone with Obagi Nu-Derm Toner, 6.7 fl. oz. using Organic Cotton Rounds.  The toner goes the quickest; it only lasts me about 3 months.

Step 3:  Treat with Obagi Nu-Derm Clear Fx, 2 oz.  Although it’s a smaller bottle and you’re using it twice a day, the Clear has actually lasted me about 4.5 months.

Step 4:  Treat with Obagi Nu-Derm Exfoderm Forte, 2 oz.  4.5 months; same as the Clear.

Step 5:  Protect and treat with Skinmedica Total Defense Plus Repair Sunscreen, SPF 34, 2.3 Ounce

. This is a brand I am starting to sample more products from.

Step 6:  Makeup – concealer, bronzer, blush, eyebrows, mascara, powder, lips (old makeup routine involved a million more products and a ton more time)

Daily Bedtime Skincare Routine:

Step 1:  Cleanse with Obagi Nu-Derm Foaming Gel, 6.7 fl. oz. with this Super Soft Silicone Facial Brush

Step 2:  Tone with Obagi Nu-Derm Toner, 6.7 fl. oz. using Organic Cotton Rounds

Step 3:  Treat with Obagi Nu-Derm Clear Fx, 2 oz.

Step 4: Treat with Obagi Nu-Derm Blend mixed with Obagi360 Retinol 1.0 – Because this is a step that I will skip very often, these two products last forever!  I have not had to ‘re-up’ on either of these since my original kit purchase a year ago.

Step 5: Apply Organic Castor Oil to eyebrows with a spoolie brush to help them stay luscious.

Weekly Skincare Treatments:

After bedtime cleanse, I shave my face with this Facial Hair Trimmer (I am going to make a separate post about this because I KNOW you have questions)

Monthly skincare Treatments:

Dermaplane Treatment at Juvly Aesthetics

Quarterly skincare Treatments:

About every 3 months or so, I like to get a Microneedling Treatment at Juvly Aestetics.

One Final summarized Thought I’d like to Share

Invest your time into skincare habits and invest your money into quality products.

    Hello ,

I saw your tweets and thought I will check your website. Have to say it looks very good!
I’m also interested in this topic and have recently started my journey as young entrepreneur.

I’m also looking for the ways on how to promote my website. I have tried AdSense and Facebok Ads, however it is getting very expensive.
Can you recommend something what works best for you?

Would appreciate, if you can have a quick look at my website and give me an advice what I should improve:
(Recently I have added a new page about FutureNet and the way how users can make money on this social networking portal.)

I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂

Hope to hear from you soon.

Maybe I will add link to your website on my website and you will add link to my website on your website? It will improve SEO of our websites, right? What do you think?

    Hello ,

I saw your tweet about animals and thought I will check your website. I like it!

I love pets. I have two beautiful thai cats called Tammy(female) and Yommo(male). Yommo is 1 year older than Tommy. He acts like a bigger brother for her. 🙂
I have even created an Instagram account for them ( ) and probably soon they will have more followers than me (kinda funny).

I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂

Keep up the good work on your blog.
